Joy: Volunteering at various locations!

Joy is a frequent volunteer at many locations, including:

1) Volunteering at a children's home under NUS CSC for 2 years, and her volunteer work involves regular weekly tutor session with the children and assist them with their schoolwork.

2) Planning events for Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) alumni / workshops

3) Ad-hoc volunteering for NUS CSC special projects as a volunteer or committee member

We had a short chat with Joy about her experiences with volunteering. Here is what she has to say about them!

"Every volunteering experience has been very fruitful for me. Although I go to volunteer my time and to help others, I really do get a lot more in return for my efforts and sacrifice.

I learn to be more appreciative of what I have, to be more empathic of others and to give generously and sincerely. Each experience I have volunteering is also different from each other, not just with different beneficiaries but also with different friends I make along the way and activities!"
